The Women’s Progressive Club is one of the oldest auxiliaries in our church. We will be celebrating our 75th anniversary in November 2016. The club was organized at the former church location at 6th and Chestnut Streets so that a group of female members could help support the financial needs of the church at that time.
In the years since that time, our purpose remains to provide opportunities for dedicated women of varying ages to work together to supplement the needs of the church spiritually and with time and talents. The club seeks to further the cause of Christianity with outreach services through participation in community activities and projects.
Our major fundraising project in 2015 was the cookbook “Our Favorite Recipes”; the last one, “Sharing Recipes”, was published more than 30 years ago. We are so very thankful to members of the club, our church family, and the community for providing us with the recipes that are a part of the book. There were more than 450 books published and sold, and the money from this project is being used to help supplement improvements to our present facility.
The club meets on the second Sunday of each month (except July and August) following our morning worship service. Announcements are placed in the bulletin as to the meeting location. Please come join us!
